37. America isn't about democracy anymore
They don't want our support or input. They want our cooperation --and they only want that to claim political legitimacy. The only power left to me is the power of non-cooperation. I choose to exercise that power, slight though it may be.

I neither encourage nor discourage anyone else from doing the same. It is a personal choice.

In my case, it is based on voting for more than 40 years --so it's hardly frivolous or sudden. It has been an evolutionary process. I rather think that that evolution has reached an endpoint, though. I think I'll just live out the remainder of my life doing little things for whatever seems good at the time and leave the political nonsense (and that is very much what it has become, imo) to those that feel there's some point left in it. I even wish them well.

But I think that the American Experiment is over. It is now an exercise of corporate power over the many for the good of the few.
