with national security credentials, the republicans and republican controlled media are going to hammer him for this right out of the gate. All you have to do is read the latest "news" to see what their first line of attack is going to be.
The media will constantly praise Bush for being a confident enough and wise enough man to appoint a VP who can readily step into the role of commander-in-chief. They will say that providing for the safety of the American public was foremost in Bush's mind in picking a VP.
