The Obama campaign statement asserts that Clinton supported the bill, which she apparently doesn't deny. The bill that she supported made it possible for the jobs to be lost. It didn't make it inevitable, because Bush could have stopped it, but the workers were in a position where their livelihoods depended on the "compassionate" part of "compassionate conservatism". That's a legitimate criticism of Clinton.

On the other hand, the OP is entitled to set forth facts that cut against the charge of hypocrisy by Clinton. This is the kind of discussion that should be more prominent in a campaign, as opposed to lapel pins, exactly what Kantor said sixteen years ago, how much John Edwards paid for a haircut, and the like.

So, as an Obama supporter, I join those who welcome JanErikFl to DU.
