Seriously.
I live in a very convenient neighborhood.
Most of the people in cars I encounter are going to jobs less than three miles away from their house.
A tax holiday would save them less than a nickel a day.
They would need a much more potent financial incentive to alter their behavior.
There's one other person on a bike that I see on a regular basis.
I've never asked her but I suspect her motivation is a desire to improve the health of herself and the planet.
If only more people thought like her.
Sigh.
