lately that it's getting hard to keep track.

This was her statement, last week, about why she saw no reason to get out of the race. She mentioned her husband not clinching the nomination til June, and threw in the RFK assassination thing, and it just rubbed a WHOLE LOTTA PEOPLE the wrong way. Frankly, I think her statement pales next to the lovely liz trotta's. Hillary didn't come flat out and wish assassination on Barack Obama like trotta did - even in jest. But you DO NOT JOKE ABOUT STUFF LIKE THIS. It isn't funny, and in my opinion it's downright criminal. What liz trotta did, in effect, was strongly suggest how nice it'd be if we could get rid of both Osama, Obama (what's the difference, anyway?). And hee hee hee, ho ho ho, guffaw, guffaw, wink-wink, nudge-nudge. Oh she was JUST JOKING!!!! Keep yer shirts on!!! I don't think so. You don't fire off so easily and so quickly with a joke like that unless it's been on your mind anyway.

Hillary, on the other hand, wasn't making a smart-ass joke about it, and I found her apology to be way more sympathetic and straightforward than trotta's (liz trotta was STILL smirking before she even got to the end of her "I didn't mean anything by it" statement). Some do not, however, and virtually everybody seems to agree that it was NOT worth bringing up - just getting into too-troublesome territory here.
