The obvious explanation is because mccain is calling him out on it.

Of course the obvious answer is, pointing out what a sick joke mccain made out of himself and lindsey graham, when they visited Iraq, trying to portray how safe it was, which of course it was pointed out that was not the reality

Personally, I agree with you, there is no need for him to go to Iraq at this time, but not because of cost, but because it feeds right into the repukes hands
