McCain keeps challenging Obama to return to Iraq and have a look for himself.

This doesn't make sense on the face of it. McCain made an ass of himself by claiming things were fine on the streets of Iraq, only to wear a helmet and body armor and be escorted by a dozen troops with choppers flying overhead to protect him.

Why would McCain want to see Obama in Iraq, knowing the same protection will be given to Obama, and the same image of an unsafe Iraq will be portrayed through that image?

Why, John McCain? Why? It doesn't make sense. How can an Obama visit to Iraq help your campaign, John?

If Obama visits Iraq before the election, he needs to have complete control of what he wears and how he wears it. I wouldn't put it past the military to try to make him look ridiculous, with cameras purposely posed to start snapping as soon as his costume is just the way they want it.
