3. What a terrible tragedy. It could be something
as simple as excessive dryer lint. Many years ago a neighbor's house basically burned to the ground because of a clothes dryer. Since that time we only use the dryer while we are at home and never turn it on and go to bed. A friend once stayed at her parents' house while they were south for the winter, did a wash load of sheets and towels, put them in the dryer and left. They were lucky there was no fire because the dryer did not stop as it was supposed to and ran for over three weeks.

What baffles me about the New Ulm fire is why the owner would operate her B & B unlicensed. Her estate may be vulnerable to a lawsuit by family of those that died in the fire.
