63. Fine line
I don't fault anyone for being tongue tied and nervous as hell in a congressional forum, but other private citizens seemed to do better than others. I don't think it is bashing someone on looks to comment that he did not do a top notch job with his presentation. Whether we think it fair or not, appearances do matter and they do make a difference. If he wants to be taken seriously as a viable candidate for national office than he needs to be able to handle himself in a congressional forum. Let's not forget he imagined himself capable of taking a seat on the other side of the table. I would have liked to have seen some of that. As it is, I can see people shrugging and says, "well no wonder he lost the election, who does he think he's kidding?" based on his looks. Fair? No. Realistic? Yes.
