FDR took some elements of communism-- wealth redistribution programs-- and some elements of fascism--government works programs-- and infused them into a corporate, capitalist system. Yeah, many capitalists hated it, but many also supported it. The biggest opposition was old money-- the American aristocracy-- who wanted to sit on their money rather than try to earn it the old fashioned way. But FDR used money to win elections, and he gave concessions to the wealthy to get money from them.

But FDR is a non sequitur. Your other post complained that the system runs on money and those with money control the system. Yes, it does, it always has, it always will. The most liberal of our presidents have usually been the richest--FDR, JFK, Jefferson. FDR didn't win with some grass-roots organization, he won with money, and not just his. He solicited contributions, too, and he made concessions to get them.
