Goodbye Mannywood

In a matter of weeks, They sold nearly 5,000 seats in a section in left field that has been traditionally hard to sell by naming it after their most popular player, but the Los Angeles Dodgers did the obvious on Thursday evening and declared Mannywood dead.

This after the section's namesake Manny Ramirez was found to have used a performance-enhancing drug and was suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball.

Since the Mannywood section came into being, a Dodgers official told CNBC that about 2,500 people had bought the two-seat packages, which cost $99 (Ramirez' jersey number) and came with two Mannywood T-shirts.

Those who purchased future Mannywood seats and no longer want to attend the game can get refunds or a credit. They also will be able to exchange their Mannywood T-shirt vouchers for two shirts in the Dodgers team store valued at $28 each or less.

-----

This is great...couldn't happen to a more deserving team, except maybe the Yankees. There will now be a permanent stain upon Dodger blue.
