Southern New Year's traditions

Who else is having black eyed peas, ham, and corn bread for dinner tomorrow? (I don't do collards lol.) I was getting my peas ready to soak a little while ago and my husband just laughed and shook his head. He's not Southern lol, and thinks it's odd to have to have the same thing every New Year's lol.
