3. Pea-MUTTButter dog cookies
we make these every week (with 3 dogs we make alot)

ingredients:
2 tablespoon corn oil
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup water
1 cup wheat flour
2 cups white flour

preheat oven to 350 degrees

combine oil, water, peanut butter in large bowl and mix until peanut butter is "liquidfied"

add flour one cup at a time and knead into a firm dough

roll the dough out to about 1/4" thickness and cut with cookie cutter

place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes

makes about 2-1/2 dozen

--------

little tricks we've learned:

put the oil in bowl first.
then add HOT WATER
measure out the peanut butter in the same cup that you used for hot water, and it the heat from the hot water makes the peanut butter easier to "slide" out
Hot water also melts the peanut butter faster and mixes better when you add the flour

if you don't have a cookie cutter - use a small juice glass to "cut" the shapes, or a knife and just cut the rolled out dough into squares/rectangles -- dogs don't care what the shape looks like

we usually increase the recipe 5-fold (with 3 large dogs we go through alot of cookies). I know with some food recipes, increasing the recipe doesn't work well -- but we have had no complaints from our dogs

Corn oil: you can use other types of cooking oil, but corn oil is good for dog's coat/skin. If you have a dog that has a problem with dandruff/dry skin - add corn oil once a day to their food every day -- 1 tablespoon for small dogs, 2 for med/larg dogs, 3 for the giants. In about a month you'll notice a much softer coat, and better skin
