4. Not exactly "House Pets",
but great friends and winter companions!


Meet Romeo and Juliet, wild Canadian Geese.
They have stayed for extended winter visits for the last 3 years.
Over time, they taught me "goose talk", and provided many hours of educational entertainment.




Canadian Geese mate for life, and are always together.
They are also very good parents, sharing the work.
This is a close up of Romeo, who was bolder and protective of his mate.


They trusted me enough to eat out of my hand, and occasionally let me stroke them.
They are beautiful, intelligent birds.

Sadly, they are not with us this winter.
Circumstance dictated that we sell the boats, and move on to dry land.
I miss them!
