Obviously, as all on this group, I read mostly about things that involve Kerry. I am shocked how hard the man works. I should be smart enough not to take an outlier and make inferences on the rest of the Congress. I do think a lot does go on out of sight though. One of th efirst Senate hearings I saw in 2005 was the SFRC - each of the Senators had gone somewhere as part of their job during the recess. In addition to the trip I assume they needed to research current issues for their area before they went. (well, even research wouldn't help Allen and Coleman)

I hadn't know the Congress was only 97 days - that's less than half of most jobs. I really don't know that my cogressman works anywhere near 100 days when they're not in session.
