Water Falling Over Things 2006, Part III (DIAL-UP WARNING)

This installment takes us, once again, to the north side of Mount Rainier along the Carbon River. After a mile-long "moderate" (a term which deserves a laugh-track, IMHO -- I'm going to be so sore tomorrow) climb up the Green Lake Trail, we wind up at Ranger Falls.

(Just so you have an idea of the perspective of this, the top-center fall is actually a bigger drop than the two side-by-side lower falls, which continue some distance below the viewing platform.)

The platform really doesn't give you much room (and trying to get closer to the falls would only be recommended if you have a serious death wish), so practically everything is taken from the same tripod position. Still, there's enough room to zoom in on one detail or another of this waterfall.

(I could easily have taken at least twice as many images as I did, but the trail took a lot longer than I expected going up, so I thought I better get down before it got too late. As it turns out, it was a wise choice!)

Ranger Creek just downstream from the falls, viewed from the same platform.
