Myths, superstition and a general hope that words and sounds have magical powers, these traits can be identified as having a basis in severe mental illness. These traits must be part of the weeding out process of any trip to the stars. This will ensure that the colonists are not polluted by neocons and fundies. Heck, all we need to do is tell them that we are tricking those that have been chosen to go and we are really just going to simulate a launch and that we will open the hatches in a month or so and say that the mission was not a success and we had to bring them back. Another positive is that the fundies are waiting to be chosen by their god to go to heaven early and leave us sub-humans behind. So all in all us progressives will have the rocket to ourselves.
