My biz landlord accused me of warring against Christmas when I wished him "happy holidays". [View All]

He replied "Merry Christmas. Are you a Christian?", I replied "would you not wish me a Merry Christmas if I wasn't?", he responded "well, some people say that there is a war against saying Merry Christmas at this time of year".

I told him that I wish goodwill to all people of all religions or none and that, to me, "happy holidays" reflects that goodwill to all people who do observe holy days at this time of year.

I asked "does that sound like I am waging war against Christmas?", he replied "I guess not".

I said "I think you watch too much Fox news" and as I handed him my rent check for the month I repeated "happy holy days". He smiled and we shook hands.
