if they know anybody with a black SUV. There could be a reasonable explanation.

Is your house really out of the way? Is it possible that someone was lost, trying to get their bearings?

You know, oddly enough...I realize this must have been very scary...but, sometimes in those types of situations, the best thing to do is to confront the fear directly. Maybe it would have been good to have gone up and asked them if there was something they needed.

Somewhat dangerous, perhaps- but, you might have just surprised yourself if it was something piddily.
