28. About three years ago---- during the Presidential primary season,
I read that about one million Christians had fled Iraq. I don't remember if the article said whether or not they were Chaldean Christians. I do remember reading (Wall Street Journal) that these people were the descendents of St.Paul's first converts; and that they made up much of the middle class in Iraq----doctors, teachers, scientists, etc. This exodus was even before the churches started getting blown up.
They apparently were seeing the writing on the wall very early on. Another tragedy that should never have happened.
