Other American families are thankful their loved ones returned even though they lost limbs... Many more of America's finest will come home in a coffin. When an IED explodes and kills one soldier or Marine in a Humvee, others in the vehicle often end up with severe head trauma that will last a life-time. These type injuries are not apparent at first, in many cases and can surface months or even years later. When I was in the Navy during 'Nam we used to make jokes about dim-witted Marines. I don't think Marine jokes are funny anymore.
