12. Welcome to DU, seize the time! I can't totally agree with you about

the boomers, though. I remember one of my brothers sweating out the draft and my mother being very upset about his lottery number and both of them were gung ho about kicking off this bloody disaster in Iraq. My father in law went to great lengths to ensure that my brother in law got out of going to Nam and they were the same way.

Conversely, the Vets who actually served in Nam, whether by draft or voluntarily, and experienced combat were the ones who attended and spoke at every local rally prior to the invasion of Iraq and after. Seems that those who were most affected are the ones who made and still make a stand for peace. :hi:
