6. He's Representing Scotland...He's Their Liebermann...
especially now since he's got a bunch of payback to give to the booosh regime and other Repugnicans. He was roughed up a bunch to hold onto his committee chairmanship (the "liberal media" made little of this at the time) as well as being on the outside of deals more often than on the inside. He surely remembers the "Club for Growth" and that itsy-bitsy primary challenge in '04 as well. But he's got more to gain by being a pain in their ass than in ours.

He'll be one of the "go-to" people who can get Democrats to cross-over or sign off on deals that will be one of the few ways the minority can show "accomplishment" in '08. He's going to line up with people like Gordon Smith, Susan Collins and other "moderates" or "mavericks" to weasel deals from either Democrats or this regime and be more of a player rather than less of one.

This Mideast trip is his sticking his tongue out at booosh and giving him the cover to now come out against this invasion. I don't think he was comfortable with his vote in the first place...and now can get some payback...or parlay it into some kind of deal.

While being anti-war is all but status quo for Democrats, it's gonna be the big thing for the Repugnicans...especiallly those who see this regime and invasion as being their ticket to another election night trainwreck in '08.
