2. We're all lost.
We're all trying to make sense of a nonsensical situation. However...

oday I hear Reid apparently for sending more troops on a short term basis .

Reid is not for sending more troops. What he said is that he might consider supporting a short-term increase in troop levels, but only in the context of a full withdrawal by 2008. I made the point in another thread that this is essentially the position of the ISG, and I suspect he's hedging his bets by not going against the ISG report.

Some say bush is holding off so he can look like the good guy by pulling the troopps out , others say he will never pull out and stay the course or the new , new way forward chatter .

Knowing Bush, he will refuse to change his mind, which means more of the same - maybe with more troops, but I doubt the overall strategy, or lack thereof, will change.

I don't see how this will turn out after the new year with all the games being played on apparently both sides .

Bush will probably get his surge, and then be called upon to support the ISG reccomendations, or else. ("Or else" meaning defunding of the war.)

Scary, eh?
