In the words of Orwell, modern man has performed the essential act of Jonah. We have allowed ourselves to be swallowed. Sometimes I think that if a dictator were to overthrow America and announce that there would be no more elections and that anyone refusing to be his slave would be burned alive, the American people would write an angry letter, and then proceed to forget that anything had happened. At least on this website I can see that I'm not the only one sickened by these things. I'm not even going to ASK about that last picture...People do so incredibly little. As a world, we have utterly FAILED to protest. Oh, well. I'm going to join Amnesty International as soon as I graduate college.
