2. I listened to the whole "rant" on tape
Maybe the topics he covered were not appropriate for a geography class, though we don't know what subjects he was covering, so I'm not sure. At the worst, though, this was not an offense that warranted a suspension. In fact, the teacher was respectful to students' questions and opinions, including those that expressed a critical view. That's what's most important to me as teacher.

Perhaps another reason why liberals like us should start forming our own private schools.

And the tape may have been an illegal use of a recording device.
