...Nixon as his VP, sent the first advisors to Vietnam in 1954, and the first American was killed in that country in 1956. By the time Ike left office in 1960, 16,000 Americans were stationed in Vietnam.

Yes, LBJ escalated the war, and yes, a lot of Vietnamese and Americans were killed while he was president from 1963-1968. Just as many Vietnamese were killed during the massive bombing of Hanoi, and the escalation of the war into Cambodia, all of which took place during Nixon's 6-year presidency from 1968 until his resignation in 1974.

Very few Nazi party members knew what was happening in the concentration camps, or even knew that the camps existed. That knowledge was held pretty closely by the top ranks of the party. Germans who were not members of the Nazi Party, which was the vast majority of the remaining German population, learned very early not to ask questions about what they saw and heard.
