9. It's the "de-humanizing" aspect
like the military uses to deaden your humanity so you can kill some "anonymous" gook/Fritz/Jap/whatever without fearing that you're going to Hell . . .

Nearly every Repuke loves nearly every aspect of the party platform . . . until they actually have to stare face-to-face with "the enemy" - sometimes their co-worker who has been working side-by-side quietly for years, sometimes their son or daughter, sometimes their brother or sister, Mother or Father . . . then the "situation" changes, and they have to realize that this person is "the exception" (rather than the norm) and deserves a modicum of respect . . .
