That is the new name for the planned channel formerly called "Independent World Television."
I first saw the change today, on a new
webpage which says:
No corporate dollars.
No government funding.
No commercials.
No strings.

The founder of "The Real News" is Paul Jay, a producer for the Canadian Broadcasting Company. The channel should be available in
September 2007 in English-speaking countries: the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, South Africa, and India.
They are being advised by Janeane Garofalo (Air America Radio) Amy Goodman (Democracy Now!) and others.
It will be streamed on the web, and shown on satellite channel "
Link TV.
