By Jesse Russell

After contract talks hit a stalemate this weekend, nursing assistants, x-ray techs, food service workers, and more at Chicago’s Roseland Community Hospital, walked off the job for one-day. It was a show of solidarity over negotiations about pay. Workers at Roseland earn on average $9 per hour while workers in similar positions at other community hospitals $12. Negotiations began 19 months ago. No word on when they’ll continue.
