11. As much as I hate to say it, "Mancow" has a point.
I don't agree with torture (including water-boarding) no matter what the circumstances; The Country That Has a Moral Obligation Does NOT Have the "Luxury" of torture. Although the people handing down orders (Rummy and Cheney) had the worst of intentions, our troops performing these acts did not.

I don't think our troops should EVER have permission to do this but they were doing it as what they thought was a means of protecting America; NOT as some perverse statement to our enemies; ergo, they kept it classified. The Taliban- quite the opposite. They caught off heads, not in some practice of interrogation or national security but to make a statement and send a message. One is by far more perverse than the other, BY-FAR.

I'm not saying we should justify torture but it IS important make the distinction in motives and actions.
