20. There are several points that are quite obvious for most people
1. In war the psychology of otherwise good people under extremely stressful situations reverts back to the reptilian brain. 2. In the stress of war otherwise good people demonize the other side to rationalize what they are doing is ok. 3. The military needs to work out better ways to prevent things like this from happening again. Those being: a. Making it honorable to have restraint rather than honerable to be a great shot b. Having a devils advocate in battle situation there to question if those they are about to fire on are actually the enemy or civilians and if there is any doubt to hold fire.
