About the only subject area where he shows some analytical ability is the advertising industry. I won't miss him in the 3 PM slot. MSNBC has had a real game of musical chairs going in that hour since Shuster's departure: recently Ed Schultz, Deutsch, and now Alex Witt. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Melissa Francis coming back to do an hour on MSNBC. While I'm not fond of her supply-side and small-government conservative views, she's smart, punchy, quick on her feet, a good interviewer, and certainly has the ability to handle an hour on her own, and I'm sure she'd enjoy working some at MSNBC again, and not just with those miserable money-counters at CNBC, where that old toad Larry Kudlow treats her like his punk daughter on The Call.
