10. There should be at least one protestant on the Supreme Court.
Thomas is theoretically a protestant but went to Catholic school, and that is a crucial factor.

How many of the Supreme Court justices went to public schools?

Diversity on the Court is important. As Sotomayor pointed out, cultural backgrounds count.

Diversity is important. If there were no women on the Court, we would protest the lack of diversity.

If there were no men on the court, we would also protest the lack of diversity.

It is very strange that, with a population that is at least if not more than one-half protestant, our Supreme Court does not include a single Protestant.

Again, I'm not advocating for quotas. I'm advocating for diversity.
