It's paradoxical for a humanist to feel this way, but, hey, Osama resigned from the human race long before September 11. Did Osama want us dead? (I'm talking about you and me.) Yes, he believed the only good American was a dead American. He had no more use for nuance than a typical teabagger; any difference between Americans like Dick Cheney and those like Noam Chomsky did not enter into the equation.

Only in the most ideal world Osama be a reasonable person who wouldn't need to be taken out as he was. But then he would not have been the Osama we all came to know. So, there will be no hang wringing from my part. I have no tears for Osama.
