6. Wow! Last year I took my then 18 year old son to the DMV to get his State ID
card since he was not yet ready to drive.

When I got my first Florida Drivers License, I had to take my birth certificate and my social security card. That was 36 years ago. It cost $10.00.

For my son's FL ID card, we had to take his birth certificate, his social security card, and two items to prove residency -- bank statements were not acceptable. We took the electric bill and the land line phone bill. The electric bill is in my husband's name alone, so I took my marriage license "just in case" and the phone bill which had my husband's and my names on it. I also took my ID to show that I was my son's mother.

The woman was super nice, (I didn't need to show my marriage license) and offered to register my son to vote at the same time.

But the cost of the ID was $35.00.

I'm not sure what changes have been made in the ID requirements since then. Charlie Crist was governor in 2010. Rick Scott Voldemort is governor now...
