9. I think you're reading too much into it.

The WH didn't release this news, it's contained in a new book that's coming out.

If anything, the fact Iran feared Saddam and the Bush Administration removed the only check on Iran they had in the Middle East doesn't make the Bush Administration look good, nor does it support the case for attacking yet another country that would never had been necessary had they not of attacked Iraq in the first place.
