Yes they did, and they were. It turns out they were wrong to challenge the conventional wisdom. Obama doesn't say they were right to do so, in fact, he says "Its fair to say they were the party of ideas, in that they were challenging conventional wisdom". And if they weren't the party responsible for the last 20 or so years worth of horrible ideas, exactly why should I vote against them? Why are you all Democrats if the last 15 to 20 years worth of ideas that the republicans have advanced on us aren't total shit?
