50. Neither Israel nor AIPAC 'buys' power, any more than any other
voice knocking on the doors of Congress to have their concerns heard. And that includes groups we could probably both agree work for our interests in the capitol - ACLU, AFL-CIO, Sierra Club, Environmental Defense Fund, Lambda, national associations of teachers, health care workers, etc. etc.

When I said "Conflating issues doesn't help discussion" I meant just that. Framing any number of national concerns in a framework of our relationship with Israel muddies the discussion.

I recognize your point of view, as far as I can read it, that we ought not support Israel. That's all well and good.

To say that Israel holds some kind of undue influence over our government is conflating the issue.

I don't see anyone 'preventing the discussion of important issues'. This is a discussion.
