This is a male's opinion based on the behavior of his sweetie. She didn't have enlargement surgery, rather, she had . . . umm, equalizing surgery.

The vast majority of females have breast of different sizes. In many cases it's really hard to tell (gotta look closely). In other cases it is significant, or the nipples don't line up. Despite the fact that nearly every female can claim this variance of form, our society continues to push unreasonable ideals on us, including the perfectly aligned and formed boobs of the "photo-worthy."

My sweetie did in fact experience a boost in self-esteem and became more comfortable with her bod. For me, personally, it wasn't an issue (as long as everything WORKS, I don't particularly care!), although I will say that I am happy that she now forgoes some of her more "coverup" clothing.

It's really a personal decision. The thing I can't understand, however, are the over-the-top boob jobs that result in freakish hugeness. I'll never forget when Olympic skater Tonya Harding, who frequented a coffee shop near my work, elected to have a significant enlargement. She was (at the time) a small-framed gal, fresh from the skating world (this was just after the crazy whacking Nancy Kerrigan thing), and her new boobies were so large I thought she might fall over!

Gee, I thought I'd be ranting about Rove or Cheney, and instead I get to talk about boobs! I love DU!
