8. Don't you think that
in Powell's' case, they kept him like a mushroom, only telling him what they wanted him to know? I think the break started when he stopped taking their bull for gospel. Once they don't own you anymore, you are just like the dance band on the Titanic .. clearly expendable yet entertaining to the top draw customers.

McCain still believes they will deliver on their promises of support and what ever else they have promised him. He doesn't see that he is shackled to their legacy yet.
