I think there's a problem with those that remain on the 'rah rah' all the time and the 'boo hiss' all the time, and agree with you that there should be much flexible space inbetween. But you stated that you are 'remaining' in the space between, which to me is guilty of the same objective flaws. If someone is stuck on rah rah, stuck on boo hiss, or stuck in the space inbetween, they're all still stuck.

The key is being flexible based on changing circumstances. One should have no problem doing the boo hiss when necessary, finding comfort in the middle when appropriate, or standing up and cheering rah rah when called for. It is quite simply just being objective to circumstances as they change. Flexibility.

So when the dems caved on the funding bill, I boo hissed. But with what they have shown me today, I feel nothing but a full rah rah. Nothing wrong with sliding from side to side on the scale as appropriate.
