3. Timeline:

9/15, the date by which the WH Iraq report has to be presented. It's the deadline imposed/negotiated by/with Congress. The WH is writing that. It'll be handed over, one supposes, on 9/15.

But don't expect much serious to happen on 9/15. Wedged between a two-day weekend break and ....

9/14, 9/13. Rosh Hashanah. Everything stops for a 2-day midweek break.

9/12 ... I have no idea what the House/Senate are doing. Presumably they can find something to occupy their times. Perhaps leave town? Tetris?

9/10, 9/11 Petraeus' report.

Now, most people have decided to conflate, for the purposes of discussion, the WH report and Petraeus' report.

The debate on the official report and on Petraeus' 'testimony' should, therefore, start in the House and the Senate.

You want debate, check back next Monday. Debate is a mite improper while the main testimony is being offered, there's every disincentive for the House to debate while Petraeus is testifying to the Senate (they don't want to step on each other). And it's best not to spread the debate over a break. Hence ... check back Monday.
