...they know that to lie and muddy the waters works, even if the actual clips show them doing what they say they did not do.

Because they will show their edited clips (if they show anything), and they will claim that they are being taken out of context, and they will keep pressing it, and the average Joes and Janes out there who do not follow these antics in detail will come to the conclusion that it's a pissing contest and won't know or really care that much who's right.

And so they win.

They have thoroughly corrupted the dialog in this country and personally I think it is beyond redemption. I had hoped that the 2006 elections showed the tide was beginning to turn -- but the Democrats have dropped the ball big time, and the opportunity is lost.

Sigh.
