3. I always brought snacks into my classroom.
I provided things like graham crackers nd sugar-free drinks, at my own expense. Some of the more aware parents brought healthy snacks and told me to use them as they were needed.

I would offer snacks mid-morning and mid-afternoon, because too many kids had flagging energy from lack of food. It would affect their behavior and academic performance.

To be fair, some of this lunchroom policy is the fault of the parents. No matter how many times they are called, no matter how many notes are sent home, some parents take advantage. They dump their children at school, and expect the school to babysit and take care of any other needs that arise as well.
