Antidepressants can be a miracle or the devil's brew. It just depends on the timing, the situation and the individual. That is why I believe that 1) only psychiatrists should be able to prescribe them (I've seen too many eye doctors and such handing them out like candy); and 2) loved ones need to watch the situation carefully, looking for radical changes in behavior, as well as listening to what the patient is trying to tell everyone.

AND, in my humble opinion, therapy should ALWAYS be multi-pronged, with counseling, group, or both a part of the plan.
