Pete Stark's comments about the president being amused are over the line. Bush seemed pretty "amused" when he did his little "let's look under the desk - nope no wmds here" bit for the camera.

There is something wrong when guys like Stark don't get - at worst - "no comment" and - what I would expect - a chorus of "amens" from their fellow democrats.

I'm not going to knock Stark. I wish he hadn't apologized. Frankly, I'm sick of apologies, but I'm sicker of all the democrats who didn't cover his back. Not to equate the situations ( or the people) at all, but even Arlen Specter went to bat for Craig. I didn't hear one of ours do the stand up thing.
