Republican bullies and Democratic cowards

Everyone knows that the school yard bully is going to kick your ass every day until you work up the nerve to fight back. It doesn't matter whether or not you can beat him. But if you can give him a bloody nose, he's probably going to leave you alone and go find an easier target.

That is, of course, a simplified version of what's taking place with the Dems getting beaten up daily, yet cowering in the hope that they don't piss off the bullies or the voters. And the result is they've pissed off everyone.

The ad from Move On? Condemn it. Back Pete Stark's comment about Bush enjoying the war? Condemn Stark. Let communications companies off the hook for breaking the law? Who does Chris Dodd think he is to block this from happening? Confirm a Roberto Gonzales clone as Attorney General? No problem.

The list of sellouts is endless, but you get the idea. Whatever Bush wants, Bush gets while our shameless Dem leaders cower under the bed hoping that no one notices that they're cowering under the bed. And all of this in an attempt to secure the White House and larger congressional majorities in '09.

And in the meantime, the blood keeps flowing in Iraq and may soon be flowing in Iran. So Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid, why aren't you hanging your heads in shame for selling us out -- not to mention aiding and abetting the destruction of our constitution. You probably think you can get away with it because none of us are about to vote for a Republican. But think about this. We can just stay home and not vote at all. After all, getting screwed is getting screwed, whether it's being done by Republican bullies or Democratic cowards.
