10. Amen!
The way the news media was reporting the Obama/Huckabee wins in the Iowa caucuses last night, I momentarily felt disappointed that my preferred candidate (Edwards, for now) didn't win first place. A few minutes later I came to my senses and realized that the nominating process is still FAR from over yet. This isn't to say that I would be upset if Obama turns out to be the nominee and I certainly plan on voting for the eventual nominee whoever he or she happens to be but it is still FAR too early for Obama supporters to be wildly celebrating or supporters of other candidates to begin getting discouraged. With Iowa having a lot of evangelical voters, the fact that Obama and Huckabee, certainly two of the more spiritual candidates in this year's Presidential race, won is actually not all that surprising. Whether their appeal will translate to other states remain to be seen but the results of one primary in one state, even a fairly significant one such as a Iowa, does not cement the nomination for Obama or Huckabee.
