Delaware Eyes Junk Vehicle Law


DELAWARE, Ohio – The way residents can sell or store a car on private property may be changing in this city.

Delaware City Council is attempting to change the law regarding so-called "nuisance vehicles". The council is pushing to change where junk vehicles can be sold, claiming that such vehicles are an eyesore and detract from property values.

"A car parked out front does not depreciate property value," Scott Larson, a local resident, protested. "It just doesn't."

According to the Delaware City Council and some in the real estate industry, however, junk cars are indeed a problem.
